That lace hole tearing was created by unbalanced stress from the shifting and bunching of factory padding. Its heavy gauge and snuggly customized fitting acts as a backing board for the torn points at the base that previously had nothing to keep them in place. Vast difference in the reformation of pocket in hand with securing compromised lace holes is the most effective, cost efficient solution short of the costly service of having it machine sewn by an industrial machine capable of going through multiple layers of leather in an exceedingly tight manner necessary to sustain repetitive, high impact. Not at all an area that should ever be sewn by hand.
